Gears of War 2006 yapımı bir video oyunudur. Hem DirectX9 hem de DirectX10 için mevcuttur. Oyun, çoklu oyunculu oynanabilir ve bu oyun Unreal Engine 3.0 oyun motorunun en iyi kullanıldığı oyunlardan biridir. Xbox 360 sürümünden farklı olarak 5 farklı "tekli oyunculu" bölüm eklenmiştir. Aksiyon ve savaş oyunudur. 27 Ocak 2014 tarihinde Microsoft tarafından oyunun haklarını satın alınmıştır. Kan ve argo sözcükler içerir.
